National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week November 14-22, 2015

November 14-22, 2015

National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week is held each year the week before Thanksgiving. This is a time for us all to start to think about what we are thankful for, a perfect time to share our compassion with our neighbors who are experiencing hunger and homelessness, and work toward a world where no one has to experience hunger and homelessness. H&H week offers the chance to contribute to a national social movement. Working families in our region do experience hunger, too and many are facing foreclosures and evictions.

Please make a difference this year by donating fresh produce, non-perishable food products and toiletries to Bentley to help our neighbors in need experiencing financial turmoil in our Central New Jersey communities.  Let us know you will be dropping off your donations at our distribution facility located at 4064 Route 1 North, Monmouth Junction, NJ.  Our driveway is a sharp right after a steel guard rail once you pass Autumn Drive traveling Route 1 North from the Whispering Woods Boulevard light.  If you are at the New Road light on the North side, you have passed Bentley.  Please call 908-227-0684 to let us know when you will be coming.  Thank you for your generous donations helping our neighbors in need!

Home Repair, Preventative Maintenance & Fix-It! Workshop

We were blessed and excited to have Gil Gordon, a community supporter of Bentley, to facilitate our latest workshop!  At two workshops, participant families learned valuable information on home repair, preventative maintenance, winterizing your home and actually fixing things themselves, saving crucial dollars by not calling a service contractor!  So many questions were asked and answered, engaging everyone in truly educational information.  Participants couldn’t wait to get back home to repair that leaky faucet and fix running toilets!
